day 5: be spontaneous

Originally I wrote day 3 as 'get of your way' on my planner and then scratched it off last minute. Get out of your way, meaning do something you wouldn't really do? And like, it was a Friday and I didn't have class. So yeah, whatever.
I wrote 'be spontaneous' when my sister invited me to go to Ateneo after I did last minute org applications yesterday.

So after I got embarrassed, again, 'cause I dropped off an application form at Ad Create Society's booth (embarrassed because I didn't read the fine print and ended up applying for Ad Core. Turns out people who aren't enrolled in advertising courses couldn't apply. Face palm forever), I decided last minute to join the org for psychology students. I forgot about the fact that you get incentives for your majors, so yeah, I definitely had to join and try to pull up my grades somehow, right?

Going to Ateneo I had to travel via the LRT 1 and 2 stations to get to Katipunan. Read Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist to pass the time. The copy belongs to one of my best friends, the one who studies at Ateneo. I borrowed the book months ago, and I really needed to return it before it got lost in the giant trash can that is my room. Or my side of the room, or whatever I touch. Um.. yeah.

So I was told by my sister to just go to MVP basement when I finally made it to Ateneo. Funny how I knew where to go, I can charge to the fact that I used to "college hop", which means I'd visit a university to see my friends. But that was back when I was a frosh. Can't believe how much time I had back then, that I could go to Ateneo or UP or UST.

Also got embarrassed when the guard asked for my id. I awkwardly handed him my id, my DLSU id. To an Ateneo guard. Ha. The security maybe sort of lax there, but at least this means that people who wants to visit their friends or their siblings can easily get in the campus. Not like when my friends visit me, they're limited to seeking some establishment with air conditioning, or else they're stuck in the heat at Agno.

So one of the main reason on why I wanted to visit Ateneo was to watch my sister dance k-pop. It's funny 'cause she's got this secret identity of sorts, 'cause she's like this completely different person at home and then you see her videos where she dances. And it's both scary and fascinating at the same time.

At least I got to meet up with my best friend and two other classmates back in high school. Half the time I was being made fun off and the other half was for laughing and laughing. Also one of my friends was convinced that Bo's Coffee guy was crushing on me. Also I knicked a spoon from Gonzaga. Hehehe.

My best friend the girly girl and awkward Arielle. Lol

We surprised mom when she fetched us later. And then we fetched Cajo from Claret. It's so weird having a sibling studying in a different school than the rest (like I'm the one to talk, I used to be the only one who wasn't studying in the Ateneo). But at least traffic there was bearable.
As soon as we got Cajo, we went straight to Tri Noma. Our plan was to date him since he's currently the only boy at home, and also because he won the vice-presidency, so we really had to celebrate.
We were going to watch Rock of Ages, but we were too early for the next screening. So we decided to pass the time by having miryenda at McDo and then go looking for a gift for lolo. He had a thing for sandals, so we started on the path to finding the perfect sandals. Shenanigans ensues.
I said, Smile like you won the vice-presidency. Explains mom's fist pump and Cajo looking like a yakuza

The movie was so insane. I couldn't stop laughing. Russell Brand's gay character, I don't even know. His brit accent plus all his crazy lines, he was so damn funny. And I think I fell in love with Diego Boneta. He was so cute and his voice. And it all stopped when he started singing in a boy band. It was so stupid and it made me rethink my love for k-pop idols. But either than mature make out scenes, hands down I found the movie to be really good. The rock and roll, the gayness, Tom Cruise's character as a "sex god" and oh my god. CATHERINE ZETA-JONES. She was fantastic and when she danced during Hit Me With Your Best Shot? I got tingles. I heart old songs, I heart musicals turned movies, I heart rock and roll. Musicals aren't for everybody, but they're damn straight awesome if you give it a chance.

After the movie we had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We were all exhausted by then and just couldn't wait to get home. Everyone just went to sleep as soon as we got to the house. I on the other hand read a couple of mangas before I went to bed. Also I was supposed to be at school by 9 am the following day for a make up class. Tsk tsk.

day 4: join an org

This was probably the most spontaneous thing on the list. Well, so far.

I've never actually joined an org at school, even when I was a frosh last year. I just didn't feel the need to belong to anything. It had everything to do with my loathing of the school and also the thought that I was gonna bust my way out of that university and go find one where I wouldn't have to go all out Spartan war mode just to get to school. I blame the transit system.

But that dark period of school-hate is over now. Thank god. So I decided to join an org today and it wasn't even one that was affiliated with my course. I joined this Advertising org called AdCreate Society, my batchmate from STC who's a member said I should join and she's got this really cool calling card, it had a camera design. And I guess... I just wanted a calling card? I am so weird.

I had to have my photo taken and of all the days to wear uncomfortable clothes (it had 'New York' on it. Didn't realize the shirt looked funny until I wore it. Seriously Arielle. Seriously). Embarrassing, but I got through it. Besides, I thought, I didn't know anyone. Except I met an alumni of STC, who actually knew who I was. Well. Who I was. Emphasis on the was because she knew who I was back when I used to sport anime hair. God the horror. I can only imagine what she thinks of me now. But she's cool, nice people rock my socks. Seriously.

So anyway, this is my application kit :-bd Heart the pirates theme they got going.

My messy bed + random things on said bed + super cool pirate themed org application kit

Also I have to go to school tomorrow to submit my application form. Sheesh. Going to school.. On a Friday.

p.s.

Me and Cajo bought a turtle:) We finally decided on calling it Skip! Going to post pictures of our amphibian tomorrow.

day 3: draw

Sheesh. Of all the uncreative things to add to the list, and right after day 2: paint. Wow. Also a late post.

Yesterday, I decided to watch a movie even on a school night. To think that I only have four days of school in a week. I guess I just needed a break from reading and thinking. So on a Wednesday, early dismissal and all, I went home to watch a movie instead of using the time to go to sleep.

So I watched The Art of Getting By, originally entitled Homework. A rom-com film starring Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts.

I had a crush on Freddie Highmore since 2004 when I got to watch Finding Neverland. I always thought that he was so much younger than me. He's always in these movies where he's just extremely adorable and tiny. I think he's such an amazing actor because of his really intense roles and since I always think he's you know. A kid. It never occurred to me that he'd be 20 years old now. When I found out, I was all, Come on you can't be serious? August Rush came out in 2007 and I was like, 13 and he'd be 15. But he never did look it in his movie. A late bloomer, I guess.

That's why I was so shocked when I saw the trailer for The Art of Getting By. I was like, He's so tall! When did this happen?!

The movie was okay. Not mind-blowing or anything. I sort of was turned off when George, Highmore's character calls Sally, a "treacherous, sadistic, little hussy". Actually, no. I was laughing at this, just because it's funny and you can hear his brit accent when he says hussy.

It had that "kilig" factor, but only because the guy was such an art geek- totally the dude I'd go for, if that kind actually existed here. His character was pretty cool, for a loner and a messed up guy who likes to draw.

I really got inspired by the way he used his textbooks as drawing pads. I guess being a social outcast makes you really artistic, like your brain feeds on all your loneliness and your angst and turns it into artistic spunk. He practically doodled over trigonometry figures in his math book. It was amaaaaazing. So I decided to do the same.

Haha, get it? Draw. So I did. But on this Algebra book I found on my desk. I never used it. I wish I took a picture before I doodled all over the cover. It had "DON'T BE FOOLED" in the front, while written on the spine was "FOR PROPS ONLY". Huh. Maybe that's why it was on my desk in the first place.

So this is my George Zinavoy inspired drawing book:

Self-portrait. Seriously, I do look like this. Me, without the pimples. Hahaha.

Failed in the rest

Bowler hat dude from day 2!

ROOOOOOCKEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!

My last drawing. Messed up and filled with monsters.

I really want to be all artsy and draw in my book like, all the time. Except this book is really heavy and probably weighs a ton. I can't always bring it with me to school. But I'm sure, one day. One day, I'll get to bring it to school. And if I'm so bored and feeling a little George-y and neurotic? I'll draw.

And draw and draw and draw.
